Google Inc. plans to buy one of the largest office buildings in Manhattan. As written by New York Post, the transaction value may be about two billion dollars.
Area 18-storey building located in the exclusive area of Chelsea is 270 thousand square meters. Currently, the building on Eighth Avenue, 111 leased 98.7 percent of the area. Google already takes 51.1 thousand square meters.
The owners of the building are a few companies: Taconic Partners, Jamestown and New York State Common Retirement Fund.
According to the New York Post, in addition to Google, this property is also claimed by other American and foreign investors.
Google – the most popular to date, the Internet search engine (and handles over 40 billion queries per month). The company was founded by Stanford University students Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1998.
