The most popular topic among the Yahoo!audience (mostly Americans and Canadians) was an oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico. In second place was the World Cup in South Africa, including requests dedicated to octopus Paul, and the third actress and singer Miley Cyrus, who released in summer of 2010 a new album with capital hit single “Can’t Be Tamed”. Completing the top five rankings Yahoo! Wsere two ambitious girl – socialite Kim Kardashian and singer Lady GaGa.
The second half opens iPhone – the summer of 2010, Apple released the next version of the popular gadget – iPhone 4. In seventh place is an actress and model Megan Fox, and immediately after her 16-year-old R’n'B singer Justin Bieber, nominated for a Grammy for the best debut of the year. Next in popularity was the TV show American Idol, and closes the top 10 search Britney Spears.
Yahoo! notes that Britney for the past 10 years has frequented the top ten most popular queries, and from 2005 to 2009, Spears was in the first place.
