From December of 2010 the company Mercedes-Benz plans to begin equipping the E-and S-Class with new, brighter xenon headlights head light. Color temperature of such lamps (their production company will Osram) is closest to daylight – as compared with the currently in use will rise by about 20 percent, or up to 5000K. This is stated in the official press release.
The company Mercedes-Benz argue that the use of such lamps will increase security. “Studies have sown that the closer the brightness of artificial light to daylight, the less tired the driver’s eyes. And this, accordingly, affects the security, especially taking into account the fact that 40 percent of fatal crashes occur at night, even despite the fact that the total number of trips reduced by 20 percent, “- said in a press release of the manufacturer.
In Mercedes also clarified that the new xenon headlights will be offered not only for the E-and S-Class – from next year they will begin to install on other models of the brand. In addition, the “old” lights on previously purchased cars can be replaced by the more vivid from an authorized dealer.
