Third Haitian cholera case found in US
In U.S., registered third case of cholera, an epidemic of this disease imported from Haiti, Laboratory studies have confirmed the man was a doctor who had been treating cholera patients who came to Miami from the Dominican Republic.

Miami health officials say test results confirm that an American Airlines passenger who became ill on a flight from the Dominican Republic to Miami on Thanksgiving had cholera.
The Miami-Dade Health Department released the results Monday.
Officials said the man was a doctor who had been treating cholera patients.
This marks the third confirmed case in Florida. State health officials say a Collier County woman and an Orlando-area women have recovered from cholera linked to an outbreak in Haiti.
The disease is caused by a bacterial infection of the intestine. Normally, it’s transmitted through an infected water supply.
