Kim Kardashian has launched a new campaign on Twitter against the well- known basketball player Kobe Bryant, urging him to refuse to enter into a 2-year contract under which the star will be advertising “Turkish Airlines”

According to the Turkish Sabah, Kobe told Kim that he signed a business contract and it is not political, and is not going to call it off. To resolve this issue, Kardashian turned to her sister’s husband Lamar Odom, who is Kobe’s teammate.
As NEWS.am reported earlier, about 2 weeks ago Kim Kardashian launched a campaign on Twitter, urging everyone to call the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, demanding to include the resolution number 252, condemning the Armenian Genocide.
Turkey was concerned that Kim Kardashian’s action had yielded results; and Pelosi said that she would make every effort to ensure that the vote takes place.

(CNN) — The business deal looked fairly straightforward. Last week, American basketball star Kobe Bryant agreed to become the new celebrity face of Turkish Airlines, a growing international carrier.
Though he has admitted to never having visited Turkey, the Los Angeles Lakers guard said in a news release that “Turkey is a country rich in natural beauty and thousands of years of cultural history, and I’m proud to partner with Turkish Airlines to bring that majesty to people around the world.”
Within days, however, Bryant’s decision was being denounced by Armenian groups in North America and in Los Angeles, which is the hometown not only of the Lakers, but also of the largest ethnic Armenian community outside of Armenia.
“Turkish Deal Will Make Kobe the Face of Oppression and Injustice” and “Kobe Bryant’s Direct Flight to Inhumanity,” announced the website of the Armenian Youth Federation.
Armenian diaspora groups in North America have launched a media and Internet campaign urging Bryant to drop his Turkish Airlines deal.

In Toronto, about 30 Canadian-Armenians protested against Bryant, holding signs that said “Kobe: Do the Right Thing,” outside the stadium where the Lakers played the Raptors on Sunday.

The advisers for Kobe Bryant need to take some history lessons. Case in point Kobe Bryant has agreed to become the celebrity face for Turkish Airlines as it hopes to expand its world wide reach – straightforward, lucrative business deal for Kobe right?
• Kobe Bryant, Black Ops Commercial
Well, no – the Armenian community in Los Angeles and other parts of the world is apparently upset with Kobe Bryant being the spokesperson for Turkish Airlines because what happened to Armenians at the hands of the Turks during World War One in what has been called the Armenian Genocide.

  1. Im sorry its so annoying hearing these people say that kobe needs to apologize for taking the deal. I realize genocide is horrific but should jewish people get made at him and make him apologize to them if he took a deal with Germany. Its not Kobes job to think about what ethinity he might offend when taking a job. The Armenians need to get over this and let him do what he wants.

  2. Seriously. Why should he apologize??? Sooooo his name is Kobe from a beef in japan, so should he change his name because Japan bombed us??? Come on now…. Business. not polotics.

    • Kobe should not have done this because it was a strategic move by the Turkish government. What you don’t understand is that this is a much bigger issue and that the Turkish and American governments do not acknowledge the fact that the Armenian Genocide ever happened. Imagine if Germany did this. Germany acknowledges and admits to the atrocities that they committed. Before Hitler killed millions of Jewish people he gave a speech and in it said “Who remembers the Armenians”. Over 1.5 million people were systematically killed and Turkey denies it happened even to this day. The American government also knows that this happened, but will not acknowledge it because we have a major Air Force base in Turkey and cannot risk losing it. This is an injustice to all people. Reconsider your thoughts and ask yourself how you would feel if this directly impacted you or your family.
