Sochi Olympics Mascots are Bunny, Leopard and White Polar Bear
Mascots of the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014 were elected bunny, leopard and white polar bear. The unusual decision of having three mascots was announced by Dmitry Chernyshenko, head of Sochi organizing committee, at the end of a nationally televised show on Russia’s Channel One TV evening of February 26. For the three candidates were given a total of 62 percent of the vote.
Originally there were 10 candidates Ded Moroz the Russian Santa Claus. Santa Claus, who, according to opinion polls, was one of the favorites, was eliminated from the voting.
