In Shanghai, New legislation “one family – one dog”

Shanghai authorities have prepared a bill according to which the family will not be allowed to keep at home more than one dog, the newspaper China Daily.

In the event that the law will come into force next year. Dog owners will be required either to sterilize their pets, or giving away puppies until they reach the age of three months, or send them to licensed nurseries. Violators of the law face fines of up to 1000 yuan (about 150 dollars).

Authorities have to take this measure because of too high density of city population and shortage of living space.
