WBA heavyweight champion Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko has promised to knock Cuban Odlanier Solis out in a fight, which will be held on Saturday March 19, 2011 at the Lanxess Arean in Cologne, Germany. 39-year-old Klitschko promised a very active fight that he predicts will end before the twelve.
“Solis is one of the hardest opponents of my career. I can fight for twelve rounds at a high tempo but the fight won’t last twelve rounds. There are good amateurs from Cuba but it’s different in the professional game, . In boxing the heart and head are more important than muscles,”” Klitschko said.
Solis in 2004 won the Olympic Games in Athens, and professional boxing scored 17 wins in 17 fights. The right to meet with the Ukrainian boxer he got in December 2010, after beating American Ray Austin.
Solis called Klitschko an “old man” that he plans to stop within the distance. He questioned if Klitschko has the stamina to go through a long and grueling contest.
