Sylvester Stallone launches Sly men’s clothing line
Actor and director Sylvester Stallone plans to launch his own line of men’s clothing under the brand Sly (“Sly”) in 2012. As the site Monstersandcritics.com reported, 64-year-old Stallone teamed up with experts in retail Michael Henry to create Sly Inc which will be launched next year.
He told Men’s Week magazine: ‘I thought the time is now. I’ve lived a life where I know what has worked and what hasn’t worked. Clothing is the first step to building a character.’
Sylvester’s two best-known film characters, Rambo and Rocky, will be the inspiration for the new collection.
His business partner Michael explained: ‘Rocky at the end of the day is a love story, while Rambo showcases the other side of masculinity, he is a loner.
‘So the line will offer looks for ‘the rebel and the gentleman.”
Stallone can’t understand why more male celebrities don’t get more involved with fashion.
He said: ‘Maybe a lot of them dress for the films they are in and they don’t want to be a slave to fashion. Or they’re more casual. But I think there’s room for both and it is not being represented, especially in my age group.’
