Gaddafi called “barbarians” to stop bombing

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi appealed to the international community to halt the military operation in his country. In a letter to the heads of the participating countries of the international coalition, he called their actions “barbaric attack”.

March 29 in London held a summit on the situation in Libya.  of 35 countries took part in a summit, including seven Arab states. In his address to the assembled Moammar Gadhafi compared the actions of NATO with air strikes by Adolf Hitler during the Second World War.

The military operation in Libya started March 19. International intervention was sanctioned by the UN. The operation involves creating no-fly zone in Libya, as well as the application of precision strikes on the positions of  Gaddafi troops.

At the first stage of the bombing carried out by the international coalition the United States, Britain, France and other countries. March 27, it became known that the operation will soon lead the NATO.

Coalition’s intervention led to increased Libyan rebels who last weekend started to counterattack on the positions of government troops. March 28 forces Gaddafi stop the advance of rebels near the town of Sirte.
